We’re pleased to be working with the Association for Dementia Studies at the University of Worcester to offer Dementia Awareness training as part of our ongoing business support & promotion of Accessibility & Inclusion across Worcestershire.

The Association for Dementia Studies (ADS) is a specialist research and education centre that offer person-centred dementia care and support. Through research, education & consultancy they engage directly with people living with dementia, their families, and carers to contribute to building evidence-based practical ways of working with people living with dementia and their families.
The Dementia Awareness course is designed for people & businesses working to improve inclusion and diversity by increasing their knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by those living with dementia. The course will enable learners to enhance their knowledge of dementia and be more confident in working alongside people living with dementia and their families within the tourism context.
The course will cover:
- Understand what is meant by dementia
- Understand why dementia matters in the context of practice within tourism
- Have greater confidence in how to work alongside individuals living with dementia and their families within tourism settings
- Consider what makes an environment “dementia friendly” within the context of tourism and the implications this has for practice
