Visit Worcestershire is inviting all local restaurants and food producers to take part in Taste Worcestershire. It’s a new celebration event to showcase the region's culinary excellence, taking place between 7th – 27th October.
The county has a proud tradition of growers and great food producers. After the success of local campaigns which included Taste Worcester and A Taste of Bromsgrove, a county-wide initiative is set to unleash a variety of unmissable offers and set menus. Both residents and visitors will be encouraged to experience new restaurants and discover the best locally sourced produce. The scheme will all be accessible through one Golden Ticket which will be free to download from the Visit Worcestershire website.
Businesses from across the sector are urged to get involved and showcase their local produce and dining experiences. Businesses will benefit from increased brand visibility, attracting new customers and coming together with an exciting new offer to elevate Worcestershire’s food and drink story.
Cllr Adam Kent, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy and Skills at Worcestershire County Council said: “Taste Worcestershire isn’t just an event; it’s a celebration of our rich agricultural heritage and vibrant culinary scene. By bringing together the best of Worcestershire's food and drink, we are not only boosting the local economy but also fostering a sense of community and pride in what we grow and produce. I encourage all local food businesses to join in and help showcase the diverse and delicious offerings of our county.
Together, we can make Taste Worcestershire a landmark event that attracts food lovers from across the country and highlights our county as a top foodie destination.”
While all the details are yet to be revealed, Visit Worcestershire is seeking businesses to get in touch to find out more. They will be sent a business pack with the full details of the foodie celebration and some frequently asked questions.
Lorna Robinson, Visitor Economy Manager for Visit Worcestershire said: “We are thrilled to be bringing Taste Worcestershire to the county this autumn. Worcestershire is home to so many fabulous producers and products, I think people would be surprised to find out just how much of the UK’s food and drink is produced right here on our doorstep.
“From asparagus to apples, to plumbs and much more. Worcestershire’s foodie scene is far more than just the well-known sauce!”
“This celebration of food and drink will shine a light on the county as a premier food and drink destination and I am excited to get out and try several restaurants and eateries over the three weeks”.
