St Richard’s Hospice will be the charity headline sponsor, with fundraising activities on the evening to contribute towards the organisation’s work to improve the lives of those living in the Worcestershire community.
The awards take place at Ombersley Court on Friday 15 March.
Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, said: “We are delighted to be working together with St Richard’s Hospice to raise awareness and funds at one of Worcestershire’s most prestigious business events in the tourism and hospitality sector. The hospice don’t only offer an invaluable support service for local residents but are helping the county drive tourism through its popular summer art trails”.
The news of the partnership comes at an exciting time for both organisations, with the great Waddle of Worcester art trail being delivered by St Richard’s Hospice this summer. In previous years the trails have brought in visitors from far and wide, increasing visitor numbers in Worcester and giving the local economy a boost.
Sara Matthews, Business Development Manager for St Richard’s Hospice, said: “It’s a milestone year for the hospice as we celebrate 40 years of care while also delivering a fun, free penguin party for the county this summer. We’re extremely grateful to our friends at Visit Worcestershire for raising awareness of and funds for our care of patients, families and bereaved people all over Worcestershire.”
Visit Worcestershire have once again relied on the generosity of local businesses offering outstanding raffle prizes for the evening which include overnight stays, vineyard tours, afternoon tea vouchers and much more. Attendees of the Tourism Awards will be able to make a donation to purchase raffle tickets on the evening of the event in an attempt to win one of the fantastic prizes.
