The Three Counties Showground is one of the largest visitor attractions in the county, welcoming a million visitors a year. They host a wide range of events all year round in the purpose built conference, banqueting and event spaces. Nationally recognised shows include the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, the Royal Three Counties Show and the Malvern Autumn Show. The Showground is used for a huge variety of events ranging from VW Bus Fest, TruckFest, Scouts Festival, Young Drivers, Dog Shows, Horse shows, Flea and Antique fairs, Winter Glow Festival to name a few.
The Senior Team, following a change in structure, reached out to the Visit Worcestershire Consultancy Programme to explore if they could receive coaching and development support. They wanted to build a team culture that would continue to build on, and develop further, the success of the site and the range of excellent shows it provides.
The Visit Worcestershire programme supported the leadership team by providing:
- Facilitation of a ‘Thinking Environment®’ workshop and team development session. An opportunity for the senior leadership team to spend time building the vision of the leader they would like to be and how they operate as SLT, exploring both strengths and challenge areas. Developing a plan of mutually agreed actions to move forward.
- Individual coaching sessions for the senior leadership team tackling areas that were important to their own personal development, teams and leadership.
- Identification of high performing, high potential managers and the provision of individual coaching sessions to support their continuing development.
Provision of tools and techniques to support knowledge, challenge and development areas

By the end of the programme, the senior team felt that they had a stronger understanding of how to operated as an effective and efficient team, had received support for their individual personal development needs, had helped potential managers start to develop their future potential and had a suite of tools and techniques to support knowledge, challenge and development areas.
