BSL Assist specialise in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals by providing high-quality interpreting services, as well as education & training on BSL.
The Deaf Awareness course is designed for people & businesses working to improve inclusion and diversity by increasing their knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by those with hearing loss. The course is interactive and aims to promote confidence in communicating with people who are Deaf or have hearing loss. The trainer for the courses is themselves Deaf.
The course will cover:
- Deaf history
- Deaf awareness, communication tactics & facts
- Different types of hearing loss
- Learning basic sign language – including signs for tourism specifically
- Reasons to learn BSL
The course cost £40.00, plus VAT per person.
