Rik Mayall Comedy Festival

Get ready for nine days of comedy chaos as the Rik Mayall Comedy Festival returns to the legendary comedian’s childhood home of Droitwich Spa.

About this event

Dates, address & more

Expanding for its second year, this town-wide celebration alternative comedy features a riotous programme of stand-up, music, sketches, workshops and theatre.

From the Norbury Theatre, where Rik made his very first stage appearances, to local pubs, cafes, and even the Pamala May community boat, the spirit of Rik Mayall will be everywhere. This year’s highlights include:

  • Catch headliners like Alexei Sayle (in conversation with Robin Ince), Nigel Planer and Phil Ellis, alongside Harriet Kemsley, Tiff Stevenson, and Nick Helm.
  • Don't miss the "Talking Bottom" live shows, the Mayall Trail throughout the town, and a special photography exhibition by Andy Hollingworth featuring rare shots from The Young Ones era.
  • With over 200 performances across 20 venues, experience everything from previews to late-night comedy, as well as a new outdoor stage and High Street takeover on Saturday 30 May.
  • The festival stays true to Rik's anarchic energy with youth workshops and showcases for emerging young comedians.

Whether you're a lifelong fan of Bottom and The Young Ones or just looking for a day out and a  laugh, join us in Droitwich Spa for a festival that is loud, proud, and completely unpredictable

Church of The Sacred Heart and St Catherine of Alexandria isn't far away

The Church of the Sacred Heart and Saint Catherine of Alexandria in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, England, is a fine Grade II listed building containing stunning mosaics and sculpture, but it is essentially a quiet place for prayerful worship.
