Pyrography Workshop
This workshop will be an informative and practical introduction to pyrography and will see you creating your very own work.
About this event
Dates, address & more
Pyrography is the art of decorative wood burning – and it is enormous fun! Though the practice of pyrography dates from the 17th century, it has recently taken the crafting world by storm.
Working in a relaxed and friendly environment, your experienced tutor will share with you a wealth of knowledge, top tips and as much or as little guidance as needed throughout the day.
Using quality pyrography equipment, with fine wire replaceable tips, to give your finished piece the finesse it deserves, you will firstly work on a small practice piece to help find your feet. You will then move on to creating your main piece - a board, approximately A4 in size. And panic not, we will have plenty of designs to choose from if you do not wish to draw your own.
The workshop will run from 10am until 4pm. All materials and equipment will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during your day. All you need is the enthusiasm to learn an exciting new craft! As with all our workshops, there will be a pause for a ploughman-style lunch, which is also provided.
Join us for this creative workshop and head home with a beautiful handcrafted piece of pyrogravure – and possibly a new obsession!
