Botanical Gin and Wild Mocktails Workshop

Discover the history of gin and delve into the world of the herbs and spices used to create one of the world's favourite tipples!

About this event

Dates, address & more

From its origins in the Middle Ages, gin has evolved from herbal medicine to an artisan product. Join us and explore the huge rage of fresh and dried herbs and spices that can used to make your very own gin blend.

Your tutor, a herbalist by training, whose interest has grown from using medicinal herbs and blending teas to edible plants and natural perfumery - and now the realms of gin - will guide you through the making process.

Without using a still, you will start with a neutral spirit and flavour it with juniper and other herbs. Using freshly foraged herbs from the garden, together with dried herbs and spices, you will learn to identify and blend these botanical ingredients to make your gin creation, which you will take away with you.

You will also have the opportunity to delve into the art of making wild mocktails – an equally delicious, non-alcoholic alternative.

The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm, with a pause for a ploughman-style lunch. Your lunch and all the materials and ingredients required to make your gin and mock-tails will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during your day.

We are very excited about this workshop and look forward to raising a toast!
