Meet re-enactors throughout the museum as they recreate everyday life during the Second World War.

The Windmill Field will once again host our ever-growing collection of living history groups, with authentic camps, uniforms, displays and demonstrations showcasing both military and civilian life.

There’s plenty to keep younger visitors entertained throughout the weekend, including:

Vintage 1940s games
Miniature Railway – £1 per ride
Evacuee Stall, where children can dress as wartime evacuees and purchase an Evacuee Pack containing an ID card, ration sweets, postcard and more
🎶 Live Entertainment
Throughout the weekend, the fabulous Jumpin’ DJ Guy Roles will be keeping the music flowing with the very best sounds of the 1940s.

Pat Reyford – also known as Sugar Ray Ford, bringing his legendary showbusiness career to the museum with his 1940s show
Zakk Dienn – Rat Pack and swing vocalist
Joe James Thomas – vintage George Formby tribute artist
The Vintage Class Singers – celebrating the golden era of vintage song and harmony

Fashion on a Ration Show – Sunday only, showcasing original wartime fashion
Free Swing Dance Classes – Saturday with Waterside Swing
Vintage Shopping Village – browse vintage clothing, accessories, gifts and collectibles

Take a break and enjoy refreshments throughout the weekend from our Tea Room and Pop-Up Café, including:

🎟️ Visitor Information
Period dress is warmly encouraged.
Civilian clothing and Allied uniforms are welcome.
Please note: Axis uniforms and replica weapons are not permitted. Entry will be refused.
Miniature Railway rides operate throughout the weekend at £1 per ride.
Tickets are available for Saturday or Sunday – a separate ticket is required for each day.
