Little Owl Farm Park
Whatever the weather has planned for us this summer, you can feel rest assured that Little Owl Farm Park will have plenty going on, come rain or shine for you and your family this holiday. As an all-weather attraction, you’ll find lots of fun and exciting activities to fill your day, whether you’re exploring our animal paddocks and multiple outdoor play areas meeting our smaller animals in the Petting Barn or enjoying our large three-storey soft play area.
As always, there’s lots going on in our Petting Barn, including animal encounters throughout the day, such as Pygmy Playtime, our daily Sheep Races, plus more! Not forgetting the four indoor play areas, along with the multiple outdoor areas, including; the Go Kart track, the Duo Zipline, the four-lane Sledge Run, Commando Course and undercover Bouncy Pillows too!
We’ll also be opening our new Adventure Playground area at the beginning of August, which will offer even more outdoor fun to our visitors! The new playground will include a number of new pieces of inclusive play equipment, meaning more fun for everyone.
So make sure you pay us a visit this summer, we’ve got a day full of fun for you and your family, whatever the weather.
Open 10 am – 5 pm daily, from Saturday, 20th July to Sunday, 1st September 2024. We are also open an extra week, from the 2nd of September – the 8th of September to allow for teacher training days. Pre-booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
Severn Valley Railway
All aboard for a summer of fun.
This summer there’s something for all the family to enjoy on the Severn Valley Railway.
Step back in time to the golden age of travel. Take a journey through 16 miles of beautiful Worcestershire and Shropshire countryside, travelling behind original steam trains and heritage diesel locomotives.
Starting Saturday 20 July through to Sunday 1 September, trains will be running mid-week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and also at weekends.
For families with youngsters, we’ve got a packed line-up of interactive exhibits and workshops to discover at The Engine House, Highley. Each week during the school holidays, activities will include fete games, science shows, magic shows, mini golf and a giant train set. Summer of Fun is on at The Engine House on selected dates from 20 July to 1 September. Visit the website to see the weekly line-up of activities.
This summer also sees an important milestone for the Severn Valley Railway as it celebrates 40 years of Kidderminster Station. On 30 July 1984, flagship locomotive, 4930 ‘Hagley Hall’ hauled the inaugural train, marking the opening of Kidderminster Town station. To mark the 40th anniversary of this milestone, the locomotive is recreating its journey during the weekend of 27-28 July. There will also be vintage vehicles, tours and model railways on display throughout the weekend.
The popular Vintage Transport Extravaganza returns on the weekend of 10 – 11 August and welcomes vehicles from all eras to stations along the line. The annual Food & Craft Fayre is set to return at The Engine House, Highley on the weekend of 24-25 August.
Churchfields Summer of Fun!
Bring the kids and their friends to Churchfields this summer to let off some steam in our Fun Farm (open from 20th July) and Maize Maze (open from 1st August) too!

Summer Adventures at Aztec Adventure
Visit for family fun and active adventures.
1. Tackle the exciting Adventure Golf Course and conquer the thrilling Aerial Adventure Course at The Lost Valley.
2. Slide, splash, climb, and jump on the floating inflatable Aqua Park at Upton Warren.
3. Escape the every day and hire a kayak, pedal boat and/or SUP or launch your own equipment. There are two spring-fed lakes at Upton Warren and Lower Moor which are tested regularly for water quality. All sessions are supervised with rescue cover. NEW for 2024 is a 2-hour Multi-Hire Deal at Lower Moor.
4. Experience Olympic Sports at Upton Warren and Lower Moor. Children’s Multi-Activity Holiday Day(s) and RYA Youth Sailing Courses (Stage 1, 2, 3 & 4) are running throughout the Summer Holidays for children 8-15 years! Dinosaurs on the Doorstep at Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum
Dinosaurs on the Doorstep highlights the dinosaurs which roamed Britain. More than 100 species of dinosaurs have been found in the UK and the exhibition features impressive skeletons and real fossils from 150 million years ago.
Visitors will come face to face with harmless herbivores to terrifying tyrannosaurs, from the smallest to the largest and from teeth to tail bones, jaws and claws, food to fossilised poo. Visitors can see and touch real dinosaur fossils, and find out who ate whom!
The exhibition includes hands-on activities such as dinosaur discovery camp and a dino-scientist station.Dinosaurs on the Doorstep is free and will be open Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 4pm and Sunday 10am – 3pm from 13 July to 8 September.
Sunflower Fields Becketts Farm
Wander through acres of beautiful sunflowers at Becketts Farm this summer! Once again, they will be opening their popular flower fields on farmland at the Farm Shop site in Wythall in late-July (nature-dependent).
Immerse yourself in nature’s beauty as you meander through the winding paths that cut through these vibrant and enchanting blooms. It’s lots of fun for the whole family to explore and will bring cheer to even the gloomiest of summer days. Take in the wonderful views and don't forget to capture some stunning photos too, with plenty of photo opportunities for keen and amateur photographers alike.
Whilst there, pick up fresh produce in the on-site Farm Shop for a picnic in the wildflower meadows over-looking the spectacular sunflowers. Or make a day of it and book a table in their family-friendly Restaurant.
There is no need to book for the flower fields, and the event is free of charge, however voluntary donations to local charity, Touchstones Child Bereavement Support are welcomed.
Nature is unpredictable but the sunflowers are expected to bloom throughout August. For exact opening and closing dates, please keep an eye on the Becketts Farm website, Facebook page and/or Instagram page for regular updates on growing progress.
The field is open daily once in bloom and the main gates will be open during regular Farm Shop opening hours; Monday – Saturday 7:30am – 5pm, Sunday 10am – 4pm.

Dinos and Rhinos at West Midlands Safari Park
Stampede through time this summer at West Midlands Safari Park as they celebrate two of their most-loved inhabitants - the incredible, charismatic rhinos and the mighty, awesome dinosaurs!

Witley Court & Gardens
This summer, gather your little explorers and head to Witley Court and Gardens – a magnificent country house in the heart of Worcestershire.
Witley was once of the great stately homes of England, reaching its peak as a Victorian party palace. After a devastating fire, it became one of the country’s most spectacular ruins.
Fantastic fun for all ages, take part in Witley Court’s Where’s My Shadow? Summer Quest, available throughout the holidays from 1st July to 1st September. Noble, the trusty guard dog, has lost his shadow at Witley Court and needs the help of little adventurers to find it!
Once you’ve embarked on the quest and burnt off some energy, grab a picnic and find a spot to lay your blanket on the grass beside the ornate fountains. The young (and young at heart) will love watching the Perseus and Andromeda fountain roar into life. Stand downwind and you'll feel the breezy spray on your face!
Journey through the grounds and experience the magic of the Victorian Era, exploring woodlands full of wildlife on your way. Nestled within the trees you’ll find a small adventure playground, an idyllic spot to pause as the kids play.
