Follow the Worcester Pear Trail (FREE)
Location: Worcester city centre
One of the easiest (and most fun) ways to explore Worcester with children is the colourful Worcester Pear Trail. With ten decorated Pears to find, each tells a story linked to the history of Worcester. With entertaining videos and great selfie opportunities, this is a wonderful activity for all ages.

The Battle of Evesham Festival (FREE)
Location: Evesham | August Bank Holiday weekend
Step straight into history at one of the UK’s most immersive family events. The Battle of Evesham brings knights, armies and medieval life to the Vale, and it’s hugely engaging for children. Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings – Kids Go Free
Location: Bromsgrove
Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings is ideal for families wanting room to run, climb and explore the past. This award-winning museum is home to the UK’s collection of phone booths, a working windmill as well as a working blacksmith and miniature railway. And what’s better, from the 1st July to the 31st August, kids go free!
Pershore Plum Festival - FREE
Location: Pershore High Street
Pershore’s popular Plum Festival will return for 2026, featuring a showcase of plums, cookery and gardening demonstrations, classic cars, live music, fairground rides and more. Saturday 29th - Monday 31st August. Entry is free.
Witley Court & Gardens – Great Value Family Tickets
Location: Great Witley
Managed by English Heritage, Witley Court offers a serious wow factor. Explore the stunning ruins, picnic in the palatial grounds and be sure to watch the fountain erupt into life (every hour). There is a great adventure playground and summer family trails to follow. Family tickets start from just £19 online and under 5’s go free.
The Malvern Hills & Great Malvern Priory – FREE
Locations: Great Malvern and surrounding areas
For stunning views across Worcestershire and beyond, you can’t beat a walk up the Malvern Hills. There are miles of walking and cycling routes, some fantastic nature spots and it’s an idyllic location for a picnic. Take in the landscapes that inspired Elgar, Tolkien and C S Lewis.
Parking in a Malvern Hills Trust car park is just £6.50 for the day, and this gives you access to all of the Trust's car parks. Knowing your ticket price helps protect and conserve the hills for everyone.
While in Malvern, check out the stunning 900-year-old Priory, visits are free, and this summer you can enjoy ‘Hunt the Monks’, a new, free, children’s trail. Find the Benedictine monks hidden in the Priory and learn a little about their lives.

Worcester City Museum and Art Gallery (FREE)
Location: Worcester
This year’s summer exhibition is 54321FAB! From Saturday 4 July – Sunday 6 September 2026 Thunderbirds and friends are coming to Worcester!
This incredible exhibition will display original puppets, models, art and memorabilia from the much-loved 1960s TV shows of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. Relive childhood favourites Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, Stingray and more and share this love with a new generation.
Forestry England: Wyre Forest – (FREE)
Location: Near Bewdley
On a sunny day, there is nothing better than heading into some shaded woodland to enjoy the cooler temperature and to let the kids (and the dogs) explore. The Wyre Forest is the UK’s largest ancient woodland and is home to walking and cycling routes, the Gruffalo trail, as well as play areas and the tree top adventures of Go Ape.
Bring a picnic and set up for the day. Local parking charges apply.
The Commandery – Great Value Family Tickets
Location: Worcester
Set in the heart of historic Worcester, the Commandery is most famous for being the Royalist Headquarters during the deciding battle of the English Civil War – the Battle of Worcester 1651. Built on the site of an early medieval chapel, The Commandery has also been a monastic hospital, a family home, a college for the blind, and it housed the Littlebury Printworks before becoming today’s museum, revealing significant stories of its city’s history.
This year, join them in celebrating the end of the English Civil War with a huge celebration on the 5th September. Discover Civil War weaponry with musket and pike drills from Worcester Reenactors throughout the day, then delve into the brutal world of 17th-century battlefield surgery with magnificent displays and talks from medical historian Kevin Goodman.

The Tudor House Museum – FREE
Location: Worcester
Nestled on the beautiful Friar Street in Worcester, this stunning Tudor building hides a whole lot of History! Open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, each week brings a different historical theme to explore.
Step into the past with ‘Cool Victorians’ weeks, where you can learn how to make your own Victorian‑style ice cream, then strike a pose in our ‘Victorian Parlour’ for a keepsake photograph and send a Victorian-style postcard to tell your friends what you have been doing.
Travel further back in time during ‘Tudor Fun & Feasting’ weeks, when families can taste-test favourite Tudor treats and have a go at some of the games and pastimes that children and adults enjoyed 500 years ago.
Then roll up your sleeves for ‘Home Front’ activities: build your own ‘scrapbook sandwich’, discover how families ‘made do’ during World War II, and sample some classic wartime cake recipes.
