Kids for a Quid at Severn Valley Railway

Children travel for just £1.00 at the Severn Valley Railway in May half-term

Offer details

Information about this offer

We can’t wait to welcome you on board the Severn Valley Railway this half term break. Step back in time to the golden age of travel with both steam and diesel hauled trains for nine days in a row.

We’re making family adventures more affordable than ever with our ‘Kids for a Quid’ offer for the May half-term holiday from Saturday 23 to Sunday 31 May.

For just £1 per child, families can enjoy an unforgettable heritage rail journey through the stunning Severn Valley countryside. With every adult Freedom of the Line ticket purchased, up to two children (aged 4–17) can travel for only £1 each, offering amazing value for a full day of heritage railway excitement. (see below for T&Cs)

We’ll be operating timetable C from Saturday 23 to Sunday 31 May. Families receive a complimentary Eye Spy booklet to test their powers of observation during the journey.

There’s so much to see, do and discover including FREE ENTRY to The Engine House Visitor Centre. Alight at Highley Station and then it’s just a short walk to The Engine House where you can get close to some very special locomotives, including ‘Gordon’ the blue engine, and take a peek through the windows of King George VI’s royal carriage. There’s a café, balcony to watch the trains, gift shop and plenty to keep everyone occupied.

Plus, Train Time UK returns to The Engine House with their giant train set from 11am to 3.30pm each day. At Kidderminster, we’re pleased to be hosting the Railway200 Inspiration exhibition train again. The exhibition train is free to visit during the half-term break (booking fee applies).

Trains operate between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth. The trains stop at all of our intermediate stations, so you can get off to explore Bewdley, Arley, Highley and Hampton Loade. Find out more about our stations and what to do. At Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, the trains take a short break, so you can see the locomotives up close.
