Rug Tufting Workshop

Tufting is a modern take on the traditional craft of rug making. With the use of a hand-held, power-assisted 'tufting gun' and a variety of colourful yarns, you can create beautiful, tactile rugs, cushions and wall hangings.

About this event

Dates, address & more

At this workshop, your talented tutor will guide you through the process of visualising your design and how to safely use the equipment. To help you on the day, we will have a selection of pre-prepared, and perfectly achievable designs for you to choose from - as well as an array of colourful yarns for you to use.

Following an introduction to craft and the equipment you will be using, you will transfer your chosen design onto backing cloth and away you go!

By the end of the day you will have completed your very own tufted creation, approximately 40cm x 40cm, ready to be made into a cushion, mini rug or wall hanging.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners, so no prior experience is required, though it is worth noting that this workshop is quite physically demanding and involves an amount of standing, pulling and holding of equipment. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us before booking.

The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm, with a pause for a ploughman-style lunch. Your lunch and all the materials to make your tufted creation are included, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during your day.

If you love exploring a new craft, and are ready to experience a great sense of achievement, then this is the workshop for you!
