Free performances of BAMBOO by NoFit State Circus

Free performances and circus workshops at Brinton Park this summer 

Local communities across Wyre Forest are invited to experience an extraordinary day of free outdoor circus as the UK's leading contemporary circus company, NoFit State Circus, brings its acclaimed production BAMBOO to Brinton Park on Saturday 22nd August. 

Taking place in partnership with Wyre Forest District Council, the event will feature two free performances at 11:30am and 2:00pm, alongside free interactive circus workshops at 12:30pm and 2:45pm, giving audiences the opportunity to experience circus skills for themselves. 

Directed by Mish Weaver, BAMBOO is a spectacular large-scale outdoor production unlike anything most audiences will have seen before. Using only sustainably grown UK bamboo and the extraordinary skill of world-class circus artists, the performance transforms open space into a constantly evolving landscape of towering structures, dynamic choreography and breathtaking acrobatics. 

As the bamboo sculptures rise, shift and disappear, performers climb, balance, swing and fly through the air, creating a mesmerising circus playground that celebrates both the beauty and fragility of our interconnected world. Accompanied by vibrant live music, BAMBOO blends impressive feats of strength and agility with humour, grace and moments of genuine wonder. 

Suitable for audiences of all ages, the production has captivated thousands of people across the UK, transforming everyday public spaces into unforgettable shared experiences. 

While productions of this scale often tour major cities and established arts festivals, BAMBOO brings exceptional contemporary circus directly into the heart of communities, removing barriers to participation and giving local families the opportunity to experience internationally acclaimed live performance without having to travel. By transforming a familiar public space into an awe-inspiring circus landscape, the event celebrates the power of arts and culture to bring communities together and create memorable shared experiences close to home. 

NoFit State Circus is the UK's foremost contemporary circus company, renowned for creating ambitious large-scale productions that tour nationally and internationally. Alongside its performances, the company is committed to developing the circus sector and delivering creative community programmes that inspire people of all ages, particularly those from underserved communities. 

The Wyre Forest performances form part of NoFit State's continuing UK tour and have been made possible through collaboration with Wyre Forest District Council. The wider project is funded by Arts Council England.

No booking is required. Audiences are encouraged to arrive early and bring a picnic blanket or camping chair to enjoy this unique outdoor experience.

The production is supported by the Arts Council of Wales, the Foyle Foundation and Without Walls, and was commissioned by Stockton International Riverside Festival, Norfolk & Norwich Festival, Hat Fair and Timber Festival.
