We are the safe space for books and book lovers. We’re a bookshop, cafe, and event hub all in one place.

Predominantly supporting indie authors and publishers, and specialising in esoteric titles and indie-bookshop exclusive and signed editions.

Born from the awareness that all communities need safe spaces, self-published authors struggle to find space in mainstream bookshops, local creatives have few opportunities to display their work, and pre-loved books gather dust in corners, Script Haven offers a home for these treasures. There is also a range of second-hand books for sale, with many donated to families and communities, or made available for free.

With a café on site, people can sit and rest in comfort, somewhere where all are welcome, with affordable refreshments or simply a safe quiet corner if that is what is desired.

The shop also plays host to various spoken word events in support of charities, book launches with both local and other prestigious authors, creative workshops – the list is wide and varied.
