"Through the work exhibited I want to convey the feelings of spiritual transcendence, by portraying and contrasting the worlds of my home and allotment.
"I live in a densely packed inner city area in Balsall Heath, Birmingham. My outlook back and front are houses, whose windows look directly into mine.
"Two days a week I cycle the three miles to the plot, where I enjoy the peace and tranquillity and, at times when the elements converge with the weather,
I feel a transcendence." ~ Colin Monk.
