Step Back to the 1940s
We’re in the mood for two rip-roaring weekends of 1940s fun, as the Severn Valley Railway steps back in time on 29 & 30 June and 6 & 7 July.

Join us for Step Back to the 1940s as we throwback 16 miles of railway to the home-front for an immersive 1940s experience – Brylcreem your hair, don your best hat and dancing shoes, starch your trousers, tan your legs with gravy browning, put in your victory rolls and get set for some 1940s fun!
Feel the spirit of the British home-front brought to Worcestershire and Shropshire as you travel by heritage steam train to each station, where there is always something different to discover, see, do or dance to!
Be part of the congregation at a 1940s wedding, bargain with the black market traders at our bumper vintage marketplace, learn to jive at a dance class, listen to a rousing speech from Winston Churchill and much, much more. There’ll be a few surprises along the way...
Plus, on each Saturday evening, we’ll be dancing the night away with a party on the platform at our Big Band Shows (additional charge applies).
Whilst you are here...
Model Railway Weekend isn't far away
We may be more used to 12 inches to the foot scale here at the SVR, but why not join us for a celebration of slightly smaller trains during our Spring Model Railway Weekend at The Engine House, Highley.
