FINGER PICKIN’ GOOD
Bromsgrove Arts presents a thrilling journey through 700 years of musical history from fretted instrument maestro Danielle Saxon Reeves
Music lovers in Worcestershire can enjoy an exhilarating blend of medieval to modern music this July, courtesy of a local classical musician accomplished in guitar, banjo and mandolin.
Danielle Saxon Reeves will be performing at Bromsgrove Arts in Fairfield on 18 July. Alongside showcasing her dazzling repertoire of skills on both replica and original period instruments, Danielle will be sharing insights with the audience about the history and musicianship behind fretted instruments.
Danielle said: “The guitar is the biggest creative influence in my life. I first picked one when I was seven years old and it’s been an all-consuming passion ever since. On the night the Fairfield audience can expect curiosity, variety and enthusiasm, plus some very whimsical skedaddling.
“Venues like Bromsgrove Arts are so important to fostering community spirit and identity. Experiencing live music with others is a fundamental part of what it means to be human. I’m looking forward to meeting the Fairfield audience and making a connection.”
Conrad Palmer, organiser of Bromsgrove Arts, said: “Danielle’s passion and knowledge for the history and beauty of her craft is inspiring. Bromsgrove Arts prides itself on celebrating all forms of music across different time periods, from contemporary pop to more niche genres and styles. We can’t wait to welcome Danielle to see her perform and learn more about how the fretted instrument tradition has developed over the centuries.”
