Meet Miss Havisham - the most disturbing of Charles Dickens’ gothic creations. Who was the woman, the human being, behind the twisted character who waits forever at her wedding feast for a husband-to-be who will never arrive? Why does she haunt our nightmares and still fascinate audiences today?
This powerful one-woman play, presented live on stage here at Number 8, invites you to delve into the dark psyche of Miss Havisham’s fractured world. Meet the characters and live the experiences that drove Miss Havisham to the brink - and finally over the edge. Written and performed by Heather Alexander with direction and dramaturgy by Dominique Gerrard.
“Gorgeously written and packed with haunting imagery.” The Stage
