In 1701 Thomas Vernon commissioned baroque artist James Thornhill to create the magnificent wall and ceiling paintings that adorn Hanbury Hall. Join Mike for a highlight talk as he uncovers the scenes from Greek mythology depicted in the paintings which comment on political satire of the day.
The talk on the 29 October will be aimed at children as part of our October half - term activities.
Meet inside the Hall. No booking needed. Wednesday 22 & 29 October, 5 November, 11am and 12pm.
This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.
