A Taste of Australia & New Zealand

The Antipodean Sommelier was started by James Leary in 2011. James had been working in the finance industry in both New Zealand and the UK. In New Zealand, he also grew Pinot Noir in the Awatere River region of Marlborough. He teamed up with UK-based Tony Wellings, who had extensive experience in the UK wine trade, and together they started The Antipodean Sommelier. Their philosophy is to work exclusively with small, boutique producers and import premium quality wines into the UK.

The wine brands ‘Snapper Rock’ and ‘Ward Valley’, owned by The Antipodean Sommelier, were established in 2013. Snapper Rock and Ward Valley have vineyards based in Marlborough and Hawkes Bay.

With a wealth of knowledge and exclusive access to these small, boutique wineries, we are very pleased to welcome Richard, who will represent a phenomenal lineup of wines from Australia and New Zealand.
