The Worcester Plinth

The Worcester Plinth is back! (and this time it's Moveable!)

About this event

Dates, address & more

The team at The Worcester Plinth are delighted to invite you to see our next Arts Installation.

Reflected Grace by Polly Merredew is a series of bold, geometric paintings inspired by two of Worcester’s most iconic features: the River Severn and the stained glass windows of Worcester Cathedral. Polly has woven a pallet inspired by the shifting tones of the river and the luminous glow of stained glass into an abstract composition that carries the rhythm of the water and the quiet radiance of light.

Oliver Carpenter from 'The Plinth' states, “Polly's work is really visually stunning and will get the next stage of the Plinth's story really up and running”.

As well as seeing Polly's work we also invite you to view the new Plinth itself which will travel across the city popping up in all sorts of unexpected places. Constructed on a 10ft shipping container, painted by Alyx Robson-Glyde a final year Art & Design student at Heart of Worcestershire College taking the style of Hokusai clouds for the various artworks to rise above.

The work will be at the Corn Market in Worcester from Monday 30th June and will stay there for 4 weeks before 'going on tour' across different sites in Worcester.
