About this business
Opening times, reviews & more
All Saints' Church houses spectacular historic monuments to the Berkeley family who have owned the estate since 1606. It features life-size figures in glorious seventeenth-century costume. Particularly splendid is the central monument in the south chapel to Sir Rowland Berkeley who died in 1611 and his wife, Katharine, lying under an arched canopy with obelisks at the four corners.
On the south wall of the chapel is the figure of Sir Robert Berkeley , son of Rowland, who as a Royalist had an encounter with Oliver Cromwell after the Battle of Worcester in 1651.
Much of the architecture, development and decoration in the church are attributed to the presence of the Berkleys in the Hall, serving as patrons and neighbours.
All Saints' came into the care of the Churches Conservation Trust in 1987 and still holds several services a year.
Entrance to the church is via the Gardens and please park in the Garden’s car park.
