Willow Basket Workshop

Join us for this fun and informal workshop and create this impressive willow basket - an asymmetrical basket, to be precise!

About this event

Dates, address & more

You will be shown how to make this very popular, stylish basket using traditional weaves and a foraged wooden handle. The handle will of course be provided, however if you have anything special you would like to use instead, feel free to bring it along on the day.

Your experienced tutor will introduce you to the joys of working with a variety of colours of willow, designed to really show off the wonderful patterns you will be creating as your basket takes shape. The end result (pictured) will be approximately 30cm x 30cm.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and will run from 10.00am until 5.00pm, with a pause for a ploughman-style lunch. Your lunch and all the materials to make your beautiful basket will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during your day. Due to the nature of the workshop, we recommend wearing suitable clothing and closed toe footwear.

Whether you are keen to learn the traditional craft of basketmaking or you simply fancy an enjoyable day out – this workshop is for you!.

Places on this workshop are limited to 8.
