Volunteer Open Day 23 March 2025

Volunteers assist the Museum in many ways, from stewarding our furnished buildings and exhibitions during opening hours to assisting with the Museum administration. Volunteers also help during our special events and activities, as well as helping with maintenance, conservation and gardening.

We are always keen to attract new volunteers. We offer full training and support, out of pocket expenses and discounts on refreshments in our Tea Room.

Have a chat to see if you would like to be involved in your chosen area such as ‘Events’ and ‘Behind the Scenes’ on arrival in the shop please go the ‘Volunteer Day’ sign where a member of our Volunteer Team will meet you.

Tell any friends and family, neighbours, colleagues about the day, as we are having a real push to extend our Volunteer Teams.
