How exciting, the opportunity to create your very own fused glass panel that can be displayed indoors or outdoors.
About this event
Dates, address & more
This workshop is a great introduction to the art of fused glass; the joining together of different shapes and colours of glass by fusing or melting them together to create bespoke works of art.
The workshop is designed to be a relaxed and friendly day for beginners. You will firstly make a small hanging decoration, which will help you find your feet and your confidence. Your experienced tutor will then guide you through the stages to make your own panel, approximately A5 in size. We will even have three beautiful pre-made designs for you to use as your inspiration; a panel of flowers, a landscape and a seascape.
During your day you will learn many skills, including; the safest and most efficient way to cut glass, an understanding of the tools and materials you will be using, the design process, and the many uses of fused glass.
The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm. All the materials to make both your decoration and panel will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during your day. All you need to bring is enthusiasm and the keenness to learn a brilliant new craft! As with all our workshops, there will be pause for a ploughman-style lunch, which is also provided.
